Resumo: **Objetivos**: O presente estudo objetivou identificar quais os principais facilitadores e dificultadores relacionados a migração de enfermeiros, encontrados na literatura nacional e internacional, nos últimos cinco anos. **Método:** Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa, com busca de artigos publicados nas bases de dados _Literatura Latino-americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde_, _Public/Publish Medline_ e _Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literatur_e, que resultou na seleção de trinta e três artigos para compor a matriz de síntese. **Resultados:** Os achados evidenciaram a presença de diversos fatores de caráter político, social e individual que facilitam ou dificultam a migração para os enfermeiros, sendo a maioria de ordem individual, podendo dividi-los em externos, que está relacionado ao país de destino, e em internos, relacionados ao país em que reside o enfermeiro **Conclusão:** Conclui-se que a maioria dos facilitadores e dificultadores são de ordem individual, sendo a procura por melhor desenvolvimento profissional e melhor remuneração em outros países, as motivações que mais apareceram para causar o deslocamento destes profissionais. No entanto, a distância familiar e os receios de discriminação, além das barreiras políticas, causam a retenção desses em seu país de origem, dificultando o processo migratório. **Contribuições para a enfermagem: **Este estudo permite o entendimento que esta categoria, por falta de boas condições de trabalho em seus países, tem a migração como uma opção de inserção no mercado de trabalho e de desenvolvimento profissional, porém, que há barreiras pessoais e contratuais que alteram suas decisões quanto a permanecer em seus países.
